Live the "festival experience" at the 2021 edition of the FMG!

Scène_CLL-Feu_artifice-Carree.pngIn order to offer an even safer event to its festival-goers, and in light of the easing of restrictions announced by the Quebec government on July 26th, allowing outdoor events to welcome more than 5,000 people, the Gatineau Hot Air Balloon Festival has decided to adapt and improve its offer for the 2021 edition, which will take place from September 2 to 6 in the Parc de la Baie: the "à la carte" show formula has been revised in order to return to the much-appreciated format of a full evening at the FMG!

Instead of single shows with rotating crowds between each show, we will now return to a formula that allows you to attend the entire evening, including concerts, hot air balloon flights, fireworks and other features that make up the DNA of the FMG!

The merger of the two shows will also allow for safer crowd management and a smoother flow of festival-goers, who will no longer have to queue at a specific time to enter the site. The increase in the audience capacity provides some flexibility to adjust to demand if it exceeds 5000 people.

Individual ticket holders will be able to attend all shows on the same night with their current tickets at no additional cost, including hot air balloon flights and other activities that may be offered at the time of the FMG. Their zone of choice when purchasing will be respected. These changes will not apply to the Hydro-Québec Musical matinees.

The Zayquipe is now complete. Quiet Mike, Clay and Friends, Vendou, Koriass, Jay Scott, and the latest guest: Alicia Moffet will be on stage with FouKi for his biggest show of the summer! Featured on La Voix in 2015, Alicia Moffet recently released her first album Billie Ave. which has already garnered over 15 million listens on various online platforms. She can also be heard on the hit Ciel... in a duet with FouKi.

Singer Brigitte Boisjoli will join Roxane Bruneau, Marc Dupré, Ludovick Bourgeois and Marjo for the FMG's signature show: Enfin de retour! This show will also showcase the talent of two emerging artists selected at the Regional Finals of Secondaire en spectacle, Laura Beaulieu and Océane Dupont.

Opening acts have been added to the two Hydro-Québec Musical matinees, which will feature the soft piano stylings of Cœur de pirate and the songs of Fred Pellerin at sunrise, amidst a flight of hot air balloons! Selected at the local finals of Cégep en spectacle, pianist and singer Yiqi Chen will present some of her compositions just before Cœur de pirate on Saturday September 4. Charbel Malo, alias PianoMalo, also discovered at Cégep en spectacle, will present his songs before Fred Pellerin on Sunday September 5.

Hot air balloons, the queens of the FMG, gradually return!

About fifteen hot air balloons, belonging to balloonists from Ontario and Quebec, will take part in the flights presented during the musical matinees, evening flights and nightly balloon illuminations.

The FMG is proud to partner with Beauce Carnaval to bring you a thrilling amusement park from September 2nd to 6th, on the outskirts of its show site in Parc de la Baie.

"Just like the shows, fireworks and flights, the rides have been part of the FMG's DNA for decades; festival-goers are very attached to them.  It's not quite a normal edition yet, but thanks to the partnership with Beauce Carnaval, we're happy to be able to offer these moments of fun and thrills to our young and not-so young festival-goers once again," explains Sandra Cloutier, General Manager of the FMG.

In total, 12 to 15 rides will be present, including the Zipper, Fire Ball, Himalaya, Caroussel, the Drop’n’twist and the Cascadeur for the thrill-seeking adventurers, young and old alike. The offer will also include games of skill and fairground food. Access to the rides will be via a separate entrance from the FMG show area; festival-goers will not be able to move freely between the two sites due to the ongoing health measures in effect.

Tickets can only be purchased on site during the ride park's opening hours. It is not necessary to purchase a FMG show ticket in order to have access to the rides area.
