LES COWBOYS FRINGANTS ON TOUR AT THE 34th EDITION OF THE FMG!

Les Cowboys Fringants album Les antipodes

This is it! The FMG - Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau is proud to launch its 34th edition by presenting, as an exclusive sneak peek, les Cowboys Fringants.

This is not the Quebec folk and country group's first appearance at the FMG. Their last epic visit to Parc de la Baie in 2017 left a lasting impression on our spokesperson Patrice Bélanger by giving him an incredible body surfing experience with bass player Jérôme Dupras.

Band members Marie-Annick, Jean-François, Jérôme and Karl will present their tenth album Les antipodes on Friday, September 3rd, 2021, on the Casino Lac-Leamy Stage. This album features 10 new original songs that are as powerful as ever, the result of more than twenty years of a decidedly phenomenal career. The album features songs such as L'Amérique pleure, Mononc'André and Johnny Pou. From cassette recordings to online streaming platforms, the fans have always been eager to listen, as evidenced by the 1,300,000 albums sold and the millions of streams already accrued. It's no surprise that Les Cowboys Fringants won 5 Félix trophies at the last ADISQ Gala, including Song of the Year and Group of the Year, and that they were nominated twice at the JUNO Awards, for the coveted Fan Choice Award and Francophone Album of the Year.

Les Cowboys Fringants are also committed to environmental sustainability. In 2005, the group created the Fondation Cowboys Fringants, which aims to protect nature and safeguard fragile ecosystems in Quebec. Since 2014, with the show Un arbre pour tous, the foundation has helped plant almost as many trees as they have sold albums, or about 1,300,000 trees.

To see Les Cowboys Fringants live, don't miss one of their only festival appearances this summer. Save the date for September 3rd!

Like the vast majority of events in Quebec, sanitary measures in place restrict us from selling passports this year. We will therefore offer a festive and safe experience, with single tickets for each show. Details of the proposed formula will follow soon. The programme, full schedule and sale dates for tickets will be announced as soon as the health plan is approved by Public Health.
