ILLUMINATION - August 15 at 9 p.m.

The FMG is hard at work preparing the Illumination show, the largest summer fireworks display in the country. Offered in coproduction with The Casino Lac-Leamy Sound of Light, fireworks will burst simultaneously from 8 secret sites positioned from east to west of the City of Gatineau, allowing residents to attend from the comfort of their balcony.

“The number one goal of the show À partir de maintenant, whose name is inspired by Marie-Pierre Arthur's repertoire, is to highlight the talent of emerging artists from our region. For many years, the FMG has been highlighting local talents in its programming. After the stage lights went out, it was imperative for the Festival to get to work on finding a way to make our artists shine again. The show is a conscious opening of the cultural community towards the post-pandemic era and a celebration of our music”, explains FMG artistic director Marie-Claude D’Aoust.

“The FMG Micro Series aims to promote cultural consumption with a local flavor. Whether free or at low cost, these micro-events are meant to feel intimate, while maintaining the production quality to which festival-goers are accustomed. While respecting the health measures in place, we really want the population to take advantage of this musical, comedic and artistic venture with family and friends! ", concludes FMG Executive Director Sandra Cloutier.

The FMG offers a heartfelt thank you to its loyal partners for the support granted in this special year, namely the City of Gatineau, Loto-Québec, Desjardins, Hydro-Québec and the SAQ.
